Tom’s Annual Birthday 4 band extravaganza!

Since I started doing these shows in honor of the day my mother bravely pushed me forth into the world, each show has gotten better and better consistently. After last year’s line up I was sure it would be almost impossible to top, I mean come on! Last year we had Aaron Williams and the Hoodoo from Madison,WI, The D-Railers from Marshfield,WI, and HUD all the way from Minneapolis,MN…and lets not forget Meantooth Grin!

This year I think will be an even bigger hit! Opening up the show are Artisan Hard Rock/Metal heads “Locrian” from Rhinelander,WI. Locrian play alot of the stuff we grew up with in the late 80′s and 90′s like: Prong, Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, Anthrax, etc. but they also play original stuff. I have known Mark and Dan from Locrian since junior high, they are like family and I couldn’t be happier that they are involved!

Also on the Bill this year is a newer band, called Soul Shaker from Madison. These guys are working on a full length album right now and let me tell you….I am psyched! These guys rock like nobody’s business and are making a name for themselves with their own brand of simple Rock n Roll seasoned with a little blues. When I say “simple” I do not mean three chord kiddie rock….I mean simple as in no thinking involved, simple as AC/DC or The Who or the Rolling stones. Take some Black Crowes, some Velvet revolver, some Allmans and add their own distinct flavor all to themselves and you’ve got…..Soul Shaker!!

We have played a few shows with Milwaukee’s WAMI nominated band “the Form” before, and it is always a good time! These guys bring a big band sound for a five piece. Though they cover some amazing bands like the Allmans and Springsteen, The true talent of this band lies in their original material which even though it has many similarities to a bigger band like the before mentioned ones; they retain a style all their own. This band is fun, and will have you hooked from the first note!

As would be expected, Meantooth Grin will play a set as well at some point. I plan on having a great time and enjoying the show myself after our set. so make sure to mark April 9th on your calendar and come down to the Kruse in for an amazing show!
